When I first met Morgan, I was struck by her gentleness and the calm strength she carried as a first-time mom. She was thoughtful, open, and deeply connected to the idea of bringing her baby into the world with intention.
As we approached the end of her pregnancy, things shifted. Morgan developed signs of preeclampsia, and after talking things through with her care team, she made the brave decision to move forward with a cesarean birth. It wasn’t the plan, but it was what her body and baby needed. And she handled it with grace.
I joined Morgan and her husband at the hospital, and from the moment I arrived, I witnessed something truly special. While Morgan labored through the emotional weight of change, her husband was by her side, attentive, loving, and quietly making sure she had everything she needed. From rubbing her back to helping her breathe through the nerves, his presence was calm and steady.
As we waited for her blood pressure to come down enough to safely move to the OR, Morgan remained incredibly brave. She trusted the process, asked good questions, and stayed grounded—even when things felt unknown.
I was so thankful that this hospital allowed me to accompany her into the OR. I held her hand through the prep, offering gentle reassurance and keeping her as comfortable as possible while the team worked. Once her husband joined us, I continued to support them both, holding space, offering comfort, and soaking in the beauty of what was unfolding.
And then… she did it. Morgan and her husband welcomed a gorgeous baby girl into the world. The emotion in that room, the tears, the joy, the relief, was unforgettable.
Morgan may not have had the birth she originally pictured, but she absolutely had a powerful, connected, and sacred experience. She was calm, courageous, and full of love every step of the way.
Morgan, it was such an honor to support you and witness your strength. Your birth was beautiful in every way.
