Some births stay with you forever. Micah’s was one of them. 🤍
As I catch up on sharing birth stories, this sweet boy has already celebrated his first birthday! His birth is still such a beautiful memory, and his mama’s journey is one I feel deeply honored to share, a testimony of love, loss, hope, and God’s presence.
In September 2014, she was diagnosed with lymphoma and began chemotherapy that November. In January 2015, she learned she was pregnant with a little boy, and that he had heart abnormalities.
Her precious Makhai was born on May 11, 2015. That November, he was hospitalized with pneumonia, and on December 30, 2015, he gained his wings. His life, his name, and his place in her heart will always matter.
In November 2024, she experienced an ectopic pregnancy. Then, in January 2025, she learned she was expecting again.
On Makhai’s birthday (which also fell on Mother’s Day), she found out she was carrying another little boy. Such a tender, meaningful moment, connecting the love she will always carry for Makhai with the anticipation of meeting his little brother. 🤍
Throughout her pregnancy, God revealed His presence in little and big ways. From quiet reminders of His love to moments that left us in awe, it was so inspiring to witness those things alongside her. Those moments became a beautiful part of her story, and they strengthened my own faith, too.
On September 8, 2025, she welcomed Micah.
Knowing the journey that brought her to this moment made witnessing his birth incredibly meaningful. The room was filled with so much laughter, love, and joy. There was room for the story she carried and for the beautiful new chapter unfolding before her.
Micah’s arrival doesn’t erase the heartbreak or replace his big brother. Both boys are part of this mama’s story. Both are deeply loved.
I could see God’s hands all over this mama and the love surrounding her that day. Being invited into that moment, to support her, laugh with her, and witness her welcome Micah, was an honor I will always carry.
Happy first birthday, sweet Micah! And to your beautiful mama: thank you for trusting me with such a precious part of your story. 🤍
